and let the army occupy. that was the main mission of the Marine Corps, so, why is the Marine Corps occupying? they suppose to give it to the army and return to their ships

It's pretty simple, it's all about numbers. In WW2 SOLDIERS had to take over beach heads in Normandy NOT the MARINES. Even though that was their specialty, it was because all the Marines were being used in the Pacific.

It's as simple as that. If their were 50 million Soldiers we wouldn't have a need for marines.
