Fred Phelps IS the anti-Christ. He is everything that most people have visualized Satan as being. He is an insult to good people everywhere, of every striope and kind. His Karmic debt is building up very fast and I, for one, would LOVE to witness it when his chickens come home to roost.

OK. These ppl protested at a funeral of a fallen soldier in my hometown.. Only the police line kept them from being hurt.
Back to the original question. Is it OK to be angry sometimes?
First, it is a natural human emotion that God has granted us, and like all things that God has given it can be used or abused.
The Bible says, "be ye angry and sin not" It also says "let not the sun go down on your wrath"
I believe these verses are actually telling us that we SHOULD be angry. Not the other way around. The question is then, how do we be angry, and not sin? Simple. Be angry at nothing BUT sin.

Nothing inspires hatred from God like professing Gods hatred without justification.
Jesus hated the Pharisees for their hypocrisy.
I can't see how he'd feel different about many who claim a monopoly on his teachings today.

Sometimes, the root of anger is love. When you hate Fred Phelps, it is really because of the compassion you feel toward the families of the dead, because of the hurt he is causing, and compassion toward others, especially gays, about whom he is spreading hatred. The trick is to act on the compassion and not the hate.

Are you sure you got that right? That doesn't sound like any Baptist Church that I've ever heard of. I don't think they would say that or do that.

I don't know why those kooks get the attention of the press. They pulled the same crap with Matthew Shepard's murder. And they continue to picket the funerals of soldiers from Iraq. Its terrible that they get any attention at all. The hate mongering, stupid, bigoted, 'holy' rollers!
