If a godless heathen such as myself can enjoy ballooning (and much more in the air), he's not going to be too put out by a cute little penguin such as yourself taking flight. Besides, if he does pop the balloon you could glide in with your flippers.

Here in Northern California there are hot air balloon places all over. Call one of them and ask about how safe they are.
