i do not want this to sound like a dating service cause i know it is not.
my concern is i have the hardest time finding men to date is western north carolina.could some one please tell me why or give me some insight on what i need to do.
sorry that people might take this wrong.i need to clear this up i am not using this sight to find a date just to get some help.

STOP OBSESSING OVER MEN! Cripes! What IS it with women, anyway??! They trash men, but they need them. They WANT them in their lives, but want to make them over into something...whatever that is!
Look: I got STUCK with my situation: pregnant wife, twins and THEN retardation and seizures! The ONLY reason I didn't leave was because it was "the right thing" to do!
Then take, my oldest sister, who NOBODY thought would ever marry, dated tons of guys, always giving them the "boot" when they got out of hand or even when she got bored (or if they asked for commitment) (this was in the early '80's...a different time).
I envied her freedom, but then, when she was 36, along comes some married guy out of NOWHERE and it's "Love at first sight"...He left his wife, married her. I don't know if that is real, but it was for her and obviously, him.
They're still together today because of it, with a wonderful, normal, beautiful kid...because SHE WOULDN'T SETTLE...and I did. I think about that sometimes and wish I could STOP!
Yes, I know I did whatt was "the right thing"..but don't let society tell you, unless it's EXTREME, what is "right" for you, and when it's supposed to happen!
What's my point? There IS no "right time"...just let it happen! And if it doesn't...if you can't live with yourself, like my sis did for all those years...well, that's a sorry thing!

You question was too general for a specific answer. All the above answers were good. It might depend on your age, what you are looking for, what your educational level or specialty is, the size of your town, etc., etc. Are there any church groups, or other social groups you can join to meet members of the opposite sex, in your town? Find a female friend who might give you some personal tips on personal appearance or deportment.

too many variables, but most likely you aren't looking in places that you enjoy going and where poeple into your similar interests go, also could be your approach, etc. hard say with given info
