I recently upgraded from XP to Vista, and now I can't find my other documents.....pictures, docs, etc. I know there is a way to get all of the documents back, because I managed to get some of my pictures back, but not everything. Can someone please help!!!??? I hate this new Vista anyway, it made my computer slow, and I would rather XP.

ahhhhhh. i have vista and wish i could have gotten xp--but it came on my new computer.

so have you clicked on my computer (computer) - then click on the C drive...docs should be there.
if you docs are not there....try to remember the name of one file....go to the search box and type it in and have it search in the entire C drive....when it is found...write down the path and make a shortcut on your desktop to that area (or move them all to the new Documents folder).

p.s....don't know if you were told - but in order to make vista run even 1/2 adequately ---you needs lots or ram...2GB plus..so add more if needed.

good luck :)

All of your documents and pictures still are on your hard drive. Vista just happens to create a bit of a different set of folders to put everything in. The My Documents folder is not the same.

You need to open My Computer or Windows Explorer and look around. All your info and pics are there somewhere.
