Ok, just what did you replace? There was the jeep high efficiency fan that was in it and was electric. Yours had the higher performance unit.
Please tell me you did not replace the mechanical fan with electric as some stupid sites say to do!!! WILL NOT WORK or worse, you replaced both fans with one electric..now you are in trouble.
Did you bleed the air from the head after the water pump replacement?? Do not bother with the high performance water pumps!!! Trust me!
You need air flow and many of these Cherokees with A/C at idle will get hot, particularly with automatic transmissions. There is no way an electric fan will provide the power and air flow of the mechanical fan.
Based upon air flow, is your mechanical clutch on the engine driven fan now 11 years old? If do it is toast!!, but spend the money to buy the most HD clutch that will fit in there and the fan shroud must be in place or it will not work.
I still had this with the three core radiator..available locally by recoring the rad or Hesco sells one..You can modify a GOOD clutch by indexing the fan clutch spring to hold it in better or replace..cheaper the fan clutch and go direct drive on the engine driven fan. That WILL WORK, but you still must have the second fan in place and operational!!
Good Luck
PS DO NOT do the direct drive on a Grand Cherokee,,too large of a fan!!

soft hoses can flatten under pressure...squeeze them ]with gloves] see if mushy... tune it up... if its running bad compuiter changes timing causeing hot running..check radiator cap....are u using 50/50 coolant and water. water alone isnt as good..and more antifreeze isnt better....,,check air filter...clogged filter causes injectors to put more gas causing hot running.......put in can of injector cleaner.too..and get out and look and see if fan is running at idle
