All the good works in the world could not save one person.

who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace 2 Timothy 1:9

This says we are not saved by our good works we are saved by Gods grace.

5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:5-7

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

A gift from someone cannot be bought or earned.

God sees nothing in us to save us.

Jesus said, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”
Notice he said nothing about repent believe and have good works. Jesus is the one who does good works through us.

But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away. Isaiah 64:6

He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. Proverbs 28:13
Nothing hear about good works to prosper.

That's okay. I do the right thing because it is the right thing to do. It would never enter my mind to do a good deed merely for the promise of a future reward or to avoid a punishment.
Your question does scare me though- are you telling Christians they don't have to do good deeds? Because I don't think Jesus would like that very much.

Yes I'm Glad I'm finally getting some help from another God-fearing Christian to convey this message. Ignore the comments of the blasphemous, but keep conveying the message. It's discouraging and disheartening at times, but we are messeners of the truth. I'm behind you 110%!!!
I love you!
P.S. by the way, to the unbeleivers, when I say I'm a messenger of the truth I'm not saying I'm better than anyone else! I'm no less of a sinner than a non-christian, the difference is I accepted God's gift of salvation and my sins were pardoned, and the debt was paid By Jesus on calvary.

Good works are the outworking of God's regenerating grace, not the cause of salvation. This truth is taught in Ephesians 2:8-10:

8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (NIV)

really now - then explain this:

For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. Eccleasiastes 12:14

What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? James 2:14

The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.
Matthew 25:40
5so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his[b]faith. 7If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; 8if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully. Romans 12:5-8

And plenty of other bibl quotes that discredit your ONE quote - both OT and NT.

What say you now?

Remember that those who preach the Gospel of Jesus shall suffer persecution. They hate you because you love Jesus.
People love to lift up their flesh , by saying it is about works. But truth be known ,we would not do the good works without Jesus as our savior.
Who is righteous? none
Who is worthy ? none
We are redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ.
Not by works of rightness's that we have done but according to His mercy He has saved us.Not of WORKS less ant man should boast.
Jesus is my salvation.<><

Don't let all the foolish talking discourage you from ministering here in the forum. The seeds will be planted, in the Name of Jesus, and nobody will uproot the plans of God.
God bless you

Yes. And thank the Lord for the free gift of grace. Even the "saintliest" among us need it, for "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

The gospel is so simple yet so powerful. And it's the message that the world most needs to hear!

Hello, Needanewstart:

I understand that if I tried to buy entrance into heaven with my good deeds, the angels would shout "Treason!" Because they watched their beloved leader suffer the greatest insults in our behalf.

Any good works we have should be the result of Christ in you, working out His own pleasure. That is why if someone says they know Him and continue in sin, they are liars and the truth is not in them.

I love you for this question.
No one comes if God doesn't call them.
The grace of God is greater then the hate of those who would judge us.
The kingdom is already here, it's in the hearts of humans.

♥Blessed Be♥

So I bet you do a lot of bad things and in the end you just ask for forgiveness and you get to go to heaven. Very easy indeed eh. Going by your logic, there is no point in doing good in this world, right.
