Most of the other postings are right, But I would call the ID section of personal at the place you are going and ask them if he will need to send a new copy. Most of the time they just see that he has signed the original and fill it out on there computer again to print you ID. as some have said it is not really a big deal. If he is not able to go with you I would take a signed Power of attorney from him stating you are authorized to sign for him on the new form.in case they need him too. All the other Documents that were suggested are a must take with you and I would always have them with you when doing any kind or military Business like starting BAH, Housing, NEX account, or any thing that the service needs you or him to start or stop.

The first time I got my ID my birthday was wrong on the ID. However all my paperwork was in front of him and correct, the error was on their end. Mistakes happen often and that is why the person making the ID will have you look over it and then sign it before it is laminated. Chances are if you bring your birth certificate with you and explain the wrong birthday is on the paperwork they SHOULD be willing to work with you. Also make sure you bring a copy of your marriage license and social security card since this will be the first time you are getting a card and being enrolled into DEERS.

Good Luck!!!

your husband is probably going to have to send a new paper... you can try to take your birth cert with you, but im betting that they wont issue u an ID card if the information is wrong. you might want to call them first, they should be able to tell u if they can use the paperwork or not.. also, if they cannot use it, get theyre fax number, and have ur husband fax them the paperwork.

also, they cant just reprint the paper, as it has to have your husbands signature on it.

also, i dont believe u need to have identification for the actual id, but as i dont know where the id office is @ that base, you will need an id, and the id paperwork to get on the base. {if you have to get a new paper faxed out, keep the old one-- you can probably use it to get onto the base.} when u call the id office, ask them where they are located, and if you will need access to the base prior. {if you have to go onto the base, u will need to get a temp pass @ the pass office also}

good luck! :)

My husband is Air Force. I would take a copy of his orders, your birth certificate and social security card and a photo ID with you. Yes, your birthday being wrong is a big deal...well not a BIG deal, but it won't take them long to fix it and reprint it.

Bring your marriage license. Bring a copy of your birth certificate too. That should be enough to correct the error regarding your birth date.

Take your Birth Cert with you and also take the marriage cert, they will be able to correct the problem birthdate in the DEERS system. It happened to wife exactly the same way that it is happening to you.
