In a way, yes!
When we refer to a car or boat as a "she", or to a mountain or God as a "he", we are communicating certain aspects of those things or spirits. Those aspects ARE gender-specific; the pronoun is an allegory of sorts.
In an allegorical sense:
Male- Large, impressive, strong, initiating contact, imparting (especially life), guardianship, begetting.
Female- Smaller, more passive, weaker, respondant to initiator, recieving (especially life), nurturing, bearing.
So, we call a ship or a car "she" because they "recieve" and "bear" living things.
We call God or a mountain "he" because of their massiveness, their ability to overwhelm/inspire, their tendency to impart (God imparts life, mountains impart weather patterns), and their guardianship (whether real or imagined).
Think about what sort of "non-breeding" things you refer to as "he" or "she", and see if I am correct.
BTW, the devil would be properly called an "it", since it neither imparts life nor recieves it.

Well, I suppose you could say that, since there is no gender identification in heaven as there is here on Earth.
However, "God" in Genesis 1:1 is the Hebrew word, "Elohiym" which is a masculine noun in the language.
Last I knew, Ford, Buick, or Beemer have no such gender ID's.

When you read the Bible, you will see that Jesus always referred to God as His Father. The prayer that Jesus gave us begins with."Our Father who art in Heaven." We never question what is in the Bible, as that is the foundation of our Faith. All we know about God is in the Bible. All else is simply someone trying to put his or her interpretation on it. My rule is...the Bible says it. I believe it. And that's that! Try reading this wonderful book!

Not all languages have a neuter personal pronoun. Hebrew doesn't. And in German and French may inanimate objects have "gender". It gets very confusing at times.
