Unless you see a massive amount of discharge.. (goo) coming from her eye, or she starts trying to scratch her eye like it itches, or it's protruding out, or starts bleeding, then no, it's not immediate that you take her to the vet...

If she becomes lethargic (refuses to move at all) or she starts acting way off her normal behavior then call the vet, otherwise, calm yourself and wait it out until Monday....

then I would call the vet and explain the situation and make an appointment... She may have a cataract which is normal in cats and well, can be treated but not reversed. It isn't fatal.

So, snuggle with her, watch her and if you notice obvious signs of distress call the vet.

Take Care!

You need to get her to a vet. She probably has a scratch on her eye. This is easily treated with an antibotic ointment if caught early. Otherwise it will get infected and she will lose it and possibly both eyes due to the spread of the infection.
If the cat is squinting then she is in a lot of pain. Eye wounds are very painful and need immediate attention. Do not wait until Monday. Call your vets office and see if they have a vet on call for emergencies...if not then take her to the nearest emergency vet clinic in your area...Don't waste time...It could mean her life!
Do not try to doctor this yourself with over the counter remedies. Some eye drops or ointments can cause more harm to an already injured eye. You especially do not want to put anything in her eye with cortisone in it. It can cause the eye to rupture and she will definitely go blind.

Check to see if there is an emergency after hours and weekends vet in your area. If so, take your cat there. If not, take your cat to your regular vet on Monday. You could also see if your regular vet has an emergency contact number and if so try calling him or her. You can also check around and see if there are regular vets in your area that have Sunday hours. Good Luck! I hope your cat's eye will be okay.

It sounds like a cateract, I don't think it's life or death, but I recommend getting her in ASAP. Also, the eye may have been damaged in a cat fight if she's an outdoor cat, in which case there's probably very little a vet can do. Keep the area around her eye clean (I recommend a cotton ball soaked in a solution of half water, half peroxide - it's very gentle and won't sting).
Good luck!

Look for a vet!!! If the cat means a lot to you, you would drive out of town to look for a vet. Is the cat in pain?

A lot of vets have after hour phone numbers.
Do you have a college nearby? If they have a vet school, they often will have a 24 hour emergency clinic you could take it to.
It obviously has an injury.

I'd get kitty into an emergency vet clinic. She'll probably be okay, and they'll likely only give her eye drops, and maybe some antibiotics (whee! fun! giving pills to kitty - no game there) but it's better to get it checked out just in case. I'm sure she'll be fine.

Your cat has probably scratched its cornea. You need to get it to the vet on Monday. Your vet can see if it is damaged permanately or if it can be treated
