Jesus said, The [appointed period of] time is fulfilled (completed), and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent (have a change of mind which issues in regret for past sins and in change of conduct for the better) and believe (trust in, rely on, and adhere to) the good news (the Gospel). Mark 1:15

Well the first step is to throw aside all logic and reason. After that, simply say aloud that you accept Christ as your savior, and believe it in your heart. It's the believing part that always stumps me.

The same thing those in Acts 2 did.

They heard the word. (Verses 14 and 22)

They believed. (verse 36)

They repented. (verse 38)

They made a statement that made it clear that they believed. (Confessed)(verse 37)

They were baptized for the remission of their sins. (verses 38 and 41)

At this point, they were saved and the Lord added them to the church (verses 47 and 41).

And they continued in unity and the same doctrine. (verses 42-47)

They were just Christians - nothing more, nothing less, nothing else. They were not a member of any denomination. No denominations even existed at that time!

If we read and understand what they understood, believe what they believed, and do only what they did (without adding any man-made doctrine); then we will become only what they became - Christians!

Jesus said that (1.) Repentance and (2.) Remission of sins should be (3.) preached to all nations (4.) in His name, (5.) beginning at Jerusalem! (Luke 24:47)

In Acts 2 we see:

(1.) In Jerusalem.

(2.) Men were gathered from every nation. (Verse 5)

(3.) Peter preached "Repent.. (Verse 38)

(4.) ... and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ... (Verse 38)

(5.) ...for the remission of your sins (Verse 38)

This was just like Christ had instructed in Luke 24:47! (See Matthew 28:18-20 and Mark 16:16 also.)

Obedience to Christ's gospel consists of the following steps:
Hearing and learning the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Romans 10:17).
Believing that Christ is the Son of God (Hebrews 11:6, John 6:40), he came to earth (John 1:14), died on a cross to pay the price of death for our sins (1 John 2:2, 1 John 4:10), was resurrected (Matthew 16:21), and is now reigning in Heaven (Matthew 16:19, Hebrews 12:2).
Repenting of one's sins (Luke 13:3), realizing disobedience to God's law (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, 1 John 3:4) and being determined to follow His teachings throughout life (Romans 6:1-7).
Confessing publicly that Jesus is the Son of the God (Matthew 10:32, Romans 10:10)
Being baptized (immersed in water) for the remission of one's sins (Romans 6:1-7, Acts 8:35-39)
Remaining faithful until death (Rev 2:10).
Just as New Testament people became Christians and were added to Christ's church by obeying these steps (Acts 2:47), people today can do the same, and belong to the same church.

To be a Christian means to be a follower of Jesus Christ, there is no other way. ppl can say they believe in other gods anda ll that, being being Christian means being a followr Of Jesus Christ, it is simple to be a Christian. One must confess Jesus as Lord and Saviour of their life, know That He came, and lived and eid for us all and htat He will come again to take us home, to repent of sins and that means saying I am sorry and it also means I am done with it To turn from sins and to turn to Jesus, and follow him. That means if we love Him, we obey Him ITs acutally commanded of us to obey and be like Jesus, not just a mere suggestion. That means we obey as He obeyed, that we live truth and speak truth, boldly wihtout fear or compromise. Knowing that we belong to Him and He to us and that He will get us thru anything in life that comes along if we continue to abide in HIm thru hoiness, as He did with the Father. Not even hard to do, I count it all as joy Becuase when we surrdener own own selifsh wills daily to the Lord and take on His will and purpose for our life, we will hate sin and see it as ugly as He does, and we will want no part of it. I count it all as joy.
BLessings come from obedeince and disboedeince leads to curse.
Very simple process, get started today. oh yeah, much to celebrate. HALLELUJAH> JESUS IS COMING SOON> OH YEAH>
