Does anybody know if it is ok to bath your dogs if they were given a dose of Advantage 2 weeks ago? I like to bath them, my spaniel gets stinky, but I don't know if this will ruin hte effectiveness of the product. Thanks! I threw the instructions that came with it out.

It does not get absorbed into their system, it stays on top of their skin. Use a gentle soap-free shampoo made for dogs and it is OK to bathe them every 2 weeks without removing too much of the product. This is what our reps tell us, direct from the manufacturer.

I wondered the same thing but when I was at Petco I discovered a product called "Natural Care Veterinarian's Best" It's labeled as "soothing Hypo-Allergenic Shampoo" Gentle & Soap Free for Sensitive Skin. Tearless & Concentrated for Dogs and Cats.
It had an additional attachment to the top that stated to use with Advantage. Hope this helps!

Lesley, yes it is okay to bathe your dog since Advantage is a Topical application, it is already well into your dogs system via the skin, and no worries.

I just wouldn't ever bathe a dog sooner than 72 hours after giving my dog Advantage, Frontline or other topical application as any residual on his coat may still need to work it's way in.

yes its ok. it just usually doesnt work as well if you apply right after a bath. give a bath wait a few days put it on. but you are fine. after u put it on u should wait about a week to let all the oils on the skin spread it over the dog.

Advantage remains effective after swimming or shampooing. I would wait atleast 24 hours after application just in case.
