Since you've never had a puppy, I'd say get one. Dogs are great!

I would go with the Siamese kitten. I had a Siamese cat that lived to be 21, so they are able to live a long time, whereas dogs tend to die around 10-12. Also, cats are much lower maintenance in that they will use a litter box, and dogs need to be taken for walks, and then you need to pick up after them. Cats also don't bark. Barking can get pretty annoying some times when you want to sleep.

Well I love both cats and dogs. I've had both. Personally I think it depends on how much work you're willing to put in and how much free time you have. If you work a lot or are not always available to walk a dog then I suggest getting the kitten. Cats are also a lot more self sufficient than dogs and therefore don't require as much attention. If you're not there a lot in the long run I wouldn't consider getting a pet at all as it's not fair on them. Also I think that generally dogs are more expensive to run. We have 2 at the moment! However, this sounds like I'm more cat biased, but I've found generally that dogs a lot more affectionate than cats and seek love and approval a lot more. Saying that I loved my cat a lot and he was very affectionate towards me. So really it just depends on which one you want more. Also, word to the wise, I personally think that Siamese cats aren't always the most friendly but I guess it depends how they're they brought up. That's from personal experience (Not my cat, they (2 of them) belonged to someone else. My cat was a tabby). I doubt that was any help but good luck with your decision!

This is not a question that anyone can answer for you. Youhave to figure this out for your self. It is a hard one but I can give you a few pointers. If you get a puppy you have to be ready to do anywhere between 6 weeks and 6months of potty training. You have to take them out for walks and deal with the issues of chewing. They are a lot more work than kittens are. Cats have a natural nack for potty training themselves. They are also not as time consuming as dogs. This is all I can advise you on. I hope that this helps you out a little. Another thing that you might think about if you are getting a new pet is the pound. Not all of the pets in the pound are there for disobenient reasons. There are some nice one in the pound that really need to be rescued. Good Luck and Congrads!

Go with a dog.Don't get my wrong I LOVE siamese also. But it's just good to switch up your animals and find all the ones you like.I was in just the opposite situation.I have grew up around dogs all my life, and had never been around cats, but when I moved into my dorm they didn't allow dogs but they allowed cats.So I got myself one at a near by shelter. She was the sweetest thing. After having her I realized I really do love cats.I've also had so many other animals such as a mini horse, rabbits, and also turtles. But nothing compares to the love of a cat or dog.So I would say go with the dog :)
