At least they kept it out of the same section as Math and Science. I guess they almost did right just by listing religion and spirituality in the same section as myth and folklore but I still feel the two are on in the same. I would've put this in the polls section but considering the content....

it puzzled me at first, but i think yahoo did the right thing. i perused myth & folklore once, and saw more dungeons and dragons and video games than i found comfortable.

while the two categories certainly overlap, there's a lot of myth and folklore that isn't religious, especially on the folklore end of the spectrum. then there's a lot of religion and spirituality that isn't stories, especially on the scientific end [yes, folks, science can inform spirituality].

there are also a lot of people for whom mythology is a hobby rather than a spiritual experience. they deserve a category as well as everybody else.

Depends on if you believe in Santa Clause, The Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny. I haven't seen a building labeled "Church Of The Latter-day Rabbits" lately, but during Christmas, Clause comes close. By the way, he should be banned at Christmas because he is actually the modern and commercial version of (Jolly Old) St. Nicholas! Lend your ear MY way! He was an early Christian. Left gifts for children. Hot topic at the time was he actually raised a couple of kids from the dead. Yep, Santa is actually a religious figure from origin. Go atheists, let's ban Santa!

Suspender, keep your pants on for goodness sake. If Christianity was a myth, it would have died out along with Zeus.

I think the difference is that people in present day live by and believe in religion, while myth and folklore is what people used to believe in and live by but has now died out. In other words religion is the myth/folklore of the present. Therefore I agree fundamentally with what your saying but I do think they warrant different categories.

That sounds to me like YOUR religious preference. Why is it important to you? Most religions consider themselves much more than myth or folklore. If yours sees itself as mere myth, then maybe that's where YOU should post.

Yes, I think they did make an error. Since mythology is just religious stories, they should be in the Religion section.

Yeah, but I think too many people would have been ticked off if they put it in with myth and folklore.
