Why the hell are you in the parenting/pregnancy section of yahoo answers????
I'm serious. I come here because i have 3 very adorable little girls and it's so nice to connect with other parent's who understand my situations and can help. But if all you have is negativity and hatred towards kids or never want them, just curious as to why you come here?

I come here for advice on how to raise my little brother. as my parents are never around, and don't do any thing when they are I have to raise my younger siblings.
but I myself never want kids for many reasons.
1. my parents made that mistake (having me and my brother)
2. I don't want to be a failure like my father.
3. kids ruin every thing. (at least my little brother does))
4. I don't want any one to hate me, and certainly not my own kids.
these are just a few reasons. I have more. most of them to personal for me to post here.

A sharp point! And you're RIGHT- to the extent that if people have nothing NICE to say about something they know nothing about- they should be bothering people somewhere ELSE. Personally, I've never had children either, but I can appreciate their purpose in continueing the "species"- so I've never been one to hate them. :) Still, I "drop in" to this Section once in awhile, to see what the prevailing "concerns" are- for parents at the moment, & to have some idea of what I should DO- on the chance that some little street urchin should come pounding at my door- demanding that I buy their stuff- if I value my LIFE ! :) So pay us no-never-mind, & try not to let these trespassers bother you. :) Have a good weekend. :)

I don't think it's a bad thing. Never hurts to get an outside perspective. Someone who's not down here fighting in the parenting trenches every day might have a fresh point of view or idea that we parents can't see or don't have the time to notice :-D

Not everyone that chooses not to have children is a child-hating monster as you paint them out to be. I think that it was unfair of you to just place everyone that chooses something different in one category. some childfree actually like children, they just don't want any of their own. besides...i chose not to have any children but yet...here i am on the parenting forum. i don't have any negativity towards children as i love my nieces and nephews very much. i just think that it was unfair on your part to be so negative towards a group of people that chose to live their lives differently without taking the time to understand that everyone is different. even those that chose not to have children. besides...i'm not here to compete with anyone in regards to my reproductive organs and what i chose to do (or chose not to do in my case). i'm simply here to help...not to compete or put down or make fun of. but then again, you may never know that because of how you approach and treat those that are different from you.

I am not one of those whom you speak of.
However, I must admit that I am not inordinately fond of kids, in terms of having my own. My girlfriend, however, is. Hence, I will need to compromise on this very serious matter.
It is not that I abhor children. On the contrary- I believe that there remains nothing sacred in this world except for the children.
I think that I dislike certain aspects of kids- not the kids themselves. For example, I don't like it when babies cry. It is stressful to listen to that sound, and I don't know what to do when it occurs. I have never had that sort nor level of responsibility before in my life.
But I was young once. If God intends for me to have children, then I am happy with his plans.
My lovely girlfriend (soon to be Fiance) wants a lot of kids- as in seven or ten. I do not. I want one or two.
So shame on those who would unjustifiably hate kids. They are precious human beings.

I was actually looking on a debate about abortion.. but I can find none.
And no, I don't go bashing everyone as you describe. I just hate stupid people. :)

Keep in mind that most of those people are just abusing Yahoo Answers and acting out of sheer idiocy, trying to rile things up for those of us who are actually mature enough to respect what the internet is all about.
I do agree with you... why do they come here and post stupid stuff... immaturity would be the answer.

I think some of them are here to satisfy some sexual fetish. Just ask a question about spanking and see all the people that pop out of the woodwork.
