Did you ever drink from a river?

I did it in Colorado and now I am having serious issues inside my stomach. I thought it was going to be mountain fresh and it was but then it was just bad inside me. I think I am hurting like a baby coming out of me. My terrible wife has no sympathy and only laughs when I am on the couch in greatest of pain. How do I rid my stomach of this burning hate?

Go see your doctor. You may have an intestinal parasite, or bacterial infection. Sadly, almost all of the surface water is contaminated by runoff, sewage, etc. You may or may not have got anything from the river from which you drank, but if you're in discomfort, you need to go see a doctor.

Oh, and the next time your wife is feeling awful - kill her with kindness and tender sympathy. The best revenge is giving someone a guilty conscience.

I have drank from streams in the mountains many times and never had any side affects. Each person is different. You need to see a DR. In the mean time try extra strength Imodium or other similar products. As for your unsympathetic wife that is your problem. Next time you are near a stream maybe you should throw her back in and see what else you can get.

Sounds like it is time for a trip to the doctor. Hopefully you just picked up some bad bacteria and you will be back to normal in a few days. However, there are several nasty creatures that could cause the symptoms you describe and your doctor may want to run a few tests to find out if you have one of them.

I drank from wonder clear unpolluted creeks in Oklahoma as a child. We even had artisan springs that sprang from the ground. The water was amazing. I now live in NC in a county that has very bad water. I yearn for those days of my youth. Sorry you're welling poorly.

see a doctor - have them analyze you poop - animals go potty in water - and a lot of water is polluted - yes i have drank from streams, lakes, rivers.
