What religion requires women to wear skirts?

First of all, Islam does not require women to wear skirts...women can wear pants if they like.

Now, as for religions that require skirts, I do believe Baptist Christian women are required to wear long skirts along with the Amish which also worship Christianity. Also there is a religion called Santeria which requires women to wear skirts due to traditional gender roles.

Pentecostal for one...it is based on the scripture that says:“

The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD ...Duet 22-5

It also has to do with modesty....some women wear pants so tight, it looks vulgar.....but even regular pants can seem immodest on some women....you have to follow what your heart tells you on this one.

I personally would never go to church in pants. I think it shows disrespect...but if you are helping your husband fix the roof,,,then for goodness sakes, don't climb up there in a skirt....use common sense...women are required to do some things today that are difficult to do in a dress..Mary probably never had to climb up a ladder, for instance and paint her house...I have had to do that.

I have come to the conclusion that this is more talking about a woman who is trying to take the place of a man,,,you know the women who wear men's shoes and have short hair and men's shirts and pants....you know the ones...and a man who is trans gender dressing...pretending to be a woman, or dressing like one....

So don't holler at me....I'm just telling you what I believe..you work out your own salvation..

Pentecostal.
They take strict interpretation of the bible. They also don't wear makeup, jewelry, cut their hair. The men must keep their hair short and the teenage girls and boys sit on opposite sides of the church. They don't watch t.v. and most only listen to Christian radio.

(Even though it is very strict, they have some of the best sermons I have ever heard. They are very passionate about their beliefs. Even though I am agnostic, I enjoyed going to their churches for over a year.)

I find it amusing that people think these groups are wrong because they live a strict lifestyle when they are just trying to follow the bible more closely. Nobody hesitates to say that being gay is and "abomination," but the other parts about women being treated like dirt, well that is just in the past and times have changed. People pick and choose what parts of the bible they find relevant, while keeping the ones they can use to persecute others with.

the majority of dress wearing women ive seen in the states are pentecostal. ive been to my fair share of pentecostal churches too. never going back. its a big performance for the audience, thats all it is, at least the ones ive been to. they lied and claimed to 'speak in tongues', they cried and stomped and threw themselves around, and pretended they had the holy spirit in them, when really they dont even know what the holy spirit is. they also call it the holy ghost instead of the holy spirit! one of the church services i went to lied about the scriptures to get money for the church. and some of the churches wear dresses because they misinterpereted parts of the bible.

edit: deuteronomy 22 are old laws that, if used to their full extent in todays society, would put you in prison for LIFE. they are good for morals, but anything other than that? i dont think so.
