This is America where our language is English. Now, I have absolutely no problem with any immigrants wanting to come to America (hey how do you think we got here?) but there is a certain laziness when you have been here for a year or more and haven't soaked in the language. I am a waitress and have been for years, so i have managed to pick up Spanish from the employees in the kitchen. And i can honestly say that I have overheard conversations in Spanish (they didn't know I could translate) and they were making fun of someone and didn't want them to know so they didn't have the convo in English. For all you know the person speaking Spanish knows English and just didn't want anyone to know what they were talking about. I dint have compassion for this person, because if you really came here with the intention of bettering your life from what you had in Mexico, you would learn the language as soon as possible for jobs, school, etc.

Some people must have others to pick on. In this case it is a person who does not know English. In other cases it can be a scar or a color. Anything that makes them feel superior is fair game. These people are to be pitied,
This country was made great by many different ethnic groups and will only stay strong as long as we make foreigners feel welcome

They might have thought that the Hispanic person was lazy for not learning the vernacular. It is hard to learn a new language though, so it was stupid to make fun of the other person.

Simply put. Ignorance is bliss.
People who pick on others to make themselves feel better are said to hate themselves so they need to feel inferior over others looks, culture, religion or language spoken in order to feel some what normal. If that's what they call normal??
I call it ignorance.

people make fun pf obese people, of short ones, of tall ones, of hispanics, of whites, blacks etc... is not right but we are all to be blamed for such behavior at one point or another.
