My computer has been messed up for about a week now. Certain websites won't let me do things, and I can't download flash player or JAVA. For instance, I can't delete my e-mail messages, and every program I want to use, I have to open as Administrator.

i.e. MySpace won't let me post bulletins or comments, or delete them, FaceBook does the same. I can't get into my school e-mail account. Webpages don't load correctly, or load at all. It's telling me that I need to have Flash or JAVA but when I go to the website, it won't let me download the programs. McAfee isn't working correctly either.

Should I just take it back to where I got it? I'm not sure if the warranty I got covers this kind of problems.
If you have any idea as to what could be causing this, that'd be great.

Oh, we also ran a virus scan and there were no known viruses, unless it just didn't pick it up...

Does anyone have any idea as to what could cause this? Thanks.

I'm really not sure, but maybe you could check to make sure cookies are allowed. http://www.google.com/cookies.html
Then check your Internet settings, your spyware program, and your virus program to make sure you're not blocking stuff too severely. If you are logging in as Guest, check to see what kind of privileges a guest has, too.
If your computer wasn't doing this before, it must be something that could be done inadvertently, so that's the kind of thing I'd look for.
Of course, if the company you bought your computer from would look at it, that's an idea, too. Sorry not to have a better answer to this. Good luck.

I'm not a computer expert but this has happened many time on my computer. Maybe a website you went on put a virus in your computer. Some websites have bad things that download without you installing it. I suggest you get the mcafee website adviser it tells you if the website is bad or ok. Also u might have downloaded somthing and it caused a virus.

It could just be a corrupted version of windows. It happens sometimes. Its always good to format your computer once a year to get rid of all the nasties (detected and undetected) that accumulate over the months.
