Yes, I am a Jew myself but I am troubled by something. I picked on Bible Thumpers earlier so it is only fair. I don't discriminate, lol, I pick on everyone. My wife (who is Christian) and I are considered getting on a waiting list for a Jewish Day Care in Thousand Oaks when our daughter turns two. We chose it because they say religion isn't involved in the first few years. But I heard otherwise from friends that have done the same. They do throw religion in there or hint at it a lot. Why do they tell you one thing but do another? We just want a religious neutral daycare, and this one was conveniently close by our home. But I am skeptical now.....should I be?

I think that a child should not be influenced about religion in school. Even as early as daycare. When my husband and I were married there no religious facts involved (he's Jewish and I'm Christian). The believes for a child should be taught by the parents and then when they are old enough to make their own decisions they can decide what they want to believe in. We celebrate both Jewish and Christian holidays. My father in law was even insistent that I call and talk with the director and take a tour. I think it would be best to find a day care with out ANY religious teachings - Jewish or christian.

Yes..I tried one also and they insisted in using the Hebrew pronunciation for my son's name! They talk about Jewishness constantly...and they celebrate every Jewish holiday with the children.
As a Christian I do believe in Jewish things, but there are some things that we just don't do as a family and we felt it would be very confusing to send a child there
We settled upon a co-operative nursery school, where all the parents work at the school once a week..it was heaven.

Well, I got kicked out of religious neutral daycare, so maybe a religious one would have been better? I guess the most important thing is whether they do a good job of taking care of your child. She probably wouldn't remember any religious stuff they may say to her, but she'll remember that they were nice to her. At least that's what I remember from my preschool days. I just remember them not being very nice and actually yelling at me. Not cool.

Do you know what a Christian is? What is a religious neutral day care? Sometimes when a thing is convenient it, hits close to home. Is the word of God discriminatory? Seeing that you are just a Jewish man does that make a difference. Do you believe in Jesus Christ? If not maybe you need to be skeptical....and you should be. Your wife is a Christian and you are a Jew. God warns us about having such a finite mind.So you my friend should always be troubled.

If a child is never exposed to 'religion' how do you expect the child to have a base upon which to make decisions in the future.
I believe that you need to choose one or the other and not attempt to insulate your child from all religious belief .
You are your child's strongest teacher -about everything. Choose what values you want you and your family to live with and then be the best example of those values that you can be .
Knowing nothing , only a little or too many variables leaves a person vulnerable to Fundamentalist proselytizers. Give your child some firm ground to stand upon.
In the end we all make up our own minds about the details. If you call yourself a Jew you must believe in God , teach your child what the two of you together believe concerning God.
In the end your child will choose the manner in which she /he will worship God.

maximum of it somewhat is theory. to be conscious of the authentic reason will take slightly analyze, yet here's a guideline. whilst attempting to construct an empire, maximum judgements are strategic, no longer very own. He might have hated Jews, yet evaluate what strategic value removing the jews provided. For one, the Rothschild kinfolk controlled significant banks, mining, production and different components. those are components Hitler confiscated. What different components did the Nazi's confiscate by utilising ostracizing the Jews? What else did they administration? i've got faith a minimum of a few of them had significant economic components and administration of key infrastructure or production interests that Hitler mandatory. Or they might have represented conceivable as a unified team that would desire to oppose him. specific, it became smart to have a "hassle-loose enemy" or scapegoat to unify the german human beings against, yet that would have been a secondary earnings to gaining administration of key components and banking. think of roughly it like a tyrant could think of roughly it. If the gang it is maximum possibly to oppose you apart from mght has administration of great components, what do you do? you're making them the enemy.

If your home is an ecumenical home, then pick neutral territory. Stay away from anything religious. What is the point of religious day care anyway? Do you WANT your child to be influenced by others in their spiritual development? THAT would worry ME greatly. The only one a child should be influenced by, IF ANYONE, is their parents.

If I were you, I would rethink my thoughts about this altogether.

A return to the Original Kingdom Gospel would be a blessing to both Jew and Christian. After all, Jesus himself comes from a Jewish heritage and he was probably speaking of the more mystical side of that tradition.

But alas, we ended up with the Pauline Gospel. A poor substitute for the real thing. Find the Original Gospel in this entertaining free book. The Jewish heritage is respected in that one.

If you want a religious neutral day care you should pick one without the word Jewish in its name.

I went to a catholic preschool, but I was too young to understand the religious context of what was going on, so it never really made an impact. Don't sweat it.
