I have heard some Christian Rap that uses the secular music beat to perform their music is that giving Glory to God or to who originally made the beat first?

I think it's too worldly. You have to draw the line somewhere; or else, what's the difference?

God wants there to be a difference. I think Christian rap takes things too far.

There is no such thing as a "secular music beat." All western music, and most music worldwide, whether Christian, secular, or some other religion, uses one of a handful of time sigatures. There's no escaping it.

As to Christian Rap being praise and worship, it can indeed praise and worship God. But if by "praise and worship music" you mean music suitable for group participation in praise and worship, rap in general tends not to lend itself well to that. But it can't be ruled out completely, I suppose.

Having become saved during the Jesus People movement of the early 70s. Todays controversy is a pillow fight compared to then. If you used drums in church, you were considered antichrist. The fact is this, whatever spreads the gospel. If the words tell the good news in a way that people will hear--if their spirit is being fed and not their flesh, all the power to em. God bless them. To me, it was like Paul talking about meat sacrificed to idols. Read that passage and replace it with Rock or Rap and you will gain some really good insight. Basically, enjoy the music that brings you close to God in your worship. However, if it causes a brother or sister to stumble, just turn it off until you are alone. Do not use it to offend others.

Sweet Pea There is more than Christian rap, there is also christian rock and roll, country and so far so on. I think you have to do what is necessary to reach different types of people. God only hears the praises of his people no matter what beat they have. God bless!

I think it's an age thing,I don't like rap and find it difficult to praise with it, but know younger people who are obviously born again and feel the presence of God in Rap. I am in my 70s, and prepare older songs that are harmoniously pleasing to the early. God loves our praise however we do it, He sees the heart

I imagine it would be giving glory to God, if used in that way. With that said, rap music is horrid across the board. If I were to create spiritual music, it probably wouldn't be my first choice for a genre to use.

I think that christian rap praises God. i think that it does not matter what kind of music it is as long as it is giving glory to God. now i don't think it is praising God when ppl write songs to make money for themselves... you know if that is their intention usually if they write one song that is praising to God.

I know words are important, but the more I have studied, the more I am convinced that the beat matters, too. Some natives in Africa would tell you that it is the beat of the drums that summon demons.
