By canvas board I would understand it's a canvas glued to a cardboard or plywood board. If that's the case you can do the following:
Go to wall-mart, they sell several pieces that are auto-adhesive (they are called "without nails" or something like that) They are pasted to your wall to hang towels, mirrors, etc.
If you find pieces that have holes and are flat, buy two and paste them to the board (the glue is very powerful), then insert a wire in the two holes and hang the painting to a nail in the wall.
If you find pieces like to hang towels, little hooks, you can buy 4 and put one to fix every side of the painting to the wall (hanging without moving).
You can also buy that 3-M tape that has glue on both sides (Double-sided tape) and just paste it to the wall. I know of museums who make that.
Anyways, as someone else suggested, just go to wall-mart and see what could be useful.
Be creative :) Good luck

If the canvas is stretched on wooden stretcher bars ( a lot of canvasses are sold this way) you can simply put a nail in the wall, and hang the stretcher bar on it especially if it is not too large. If it is a thin canvas covered board, then glue a sawtooth hanger with epoxy or some other reliable glue, and hang it on a nail. You could also use a sawtooth hanger on the stretcher bar by nailing it with the tiny little nails that come with the hanger and proceed. Sawtooth hangers are available in hardware stores for less than a dollar.

You need to take care that the canvas board doesn't warp. The only way I can think of, which will also be the way you can hang it without using a frame, is to mount it on either a piece of cut light-weight wood or mdf. You'll need a good strong adhesive and you'll also have to make sure that the material you're mounting it on, is exactly the same size.
Once it's mounted, you can hang it with either d-rings or mirror-rings.

Providing that the stretcher, (the wooden structure on which the canvas is stretched), is solid and reasonably thick, then the painting can be wired to hang without a frame.
Pros: Wiring is inexpensive and easy. It allows the artwork to stand entirely alone.
Cons: Wiring offers no protection or reinforcement to the painting. If the stretcher is not sturdy enough, the weight of hanging may cause it to warp, sag or split. An unframed artwork will provoke your more fastidious friends to ask when you plan to frame it hehe.
I really hope this helps.

A good hardware shop should be able to sell you the kind of round disk used for hanging china plates on a wall. The smallest size should do and they have integral metal loops which can take your string. You wet them to activate the adhesive and it is extremely strong. I have used this for even quite heavy things. Good luck.

Attach a piece of string about a third of the way down (on the back) from one side to the other. Make it as tight as you can. Hang it from a nail in the wall.

Screw 2 hook eyes into the sides of the frame at the back and string it from there, wire is better than string. I have done alot like that....
