If this is a chronic problem for you, then you probably should discuss it with your doctor. Taking laxatives on a regular basis is not a good idea.
Do try to drink plenty of water and try to get your fiber from more natural sources, fresh fruits and vegetables. I personally find that a daily serving of live culture yogurt (like Dannon Activia) helps keep the bowel regulated.
Sometimes there's just no better treatment for an impacted bowel than a good, old fashioned enema. And the fastest, most effective enema I've ever used came at the suggestion of an old, very experienced nurse who suggested a cup of dark molasses mixed into a quart of milk. The result is generally immediate.

It sounds like you could have an early problem with diverticulosis. You need to talk to your main doctor about finding a gastrointestinal specialist to look into this problem soon. It does take fiber caplets a while to work, but it there is a blockage impeding the movement, then fiber will just make the bloating worse. There are good suppositories that work quickly, such as Ducolax, but if you are having pain or have a health complication causing this, the Ducolax is not advised. Try drinking some hot water and see if that stimulates the fiber to work quicker. The fiber will not work right unless you drink plenty of water. If none of this works, be sure to call the doctor as soon as his office is open.

First, if you dont think its bad enough for a doctor visit and MRI of your lower systems, you should really think about your diet and water intake. Kevin Tridou's books and "www.natural cures.com" will explain it all better than I can. But it all points to healthy intakes of pure water, whole foods like organically grown raw produce, and other common things like raw vinigar, stivia, etc. A bowel clensing will change your whole life!! You will be more energetic, strong, alert, and have a good outllok on everything. If you are over weight it will have dramatic effect on this too. These things have a near 100% success rate!! Good luck and be well!!

Give the laxative more time. if by tomorrow noon, no smelly session, then take another laxative.
Are you drinking plenty of water? 8-10, eight ounce glasses per day.
While you are waiting for the laxative to work today, you can drink some prune juice, eat a lot of fruit and vegetables.
Don't eat anything with a high fat content.
Especially dairy and meat products and fried foods.

I would not be so worried about the weight gain. You obviously have some kind of bowel obstruction and you need to get to a doctor fast to find out what it is--it may just be compacted fecal matter in your intestinal tract--but even this is not good--you may need to have a colonoscopy to determine the cause--please do not delay any longer--it could be very serious!!

4 laxative tablets sounds like alot. Have you considered that you might have an intestinal blockage? I'd call the doctor before I did anything else.

First off, 4 Laxitive Pills is likely just to make you have even more constipation. I know its a far stretch but use the medicine that god put on this earth and that most humans scorn, Medicinal Marijuana, it should clear up your constipation right away. The only reason it's illegal is because of the government wouldn't be able to control it. Hell even George Washington grew it!

Depending on what your doctor thinks, you may be needed to be checked for hypothyroidism. This needs just a simple blood test.
