My best friend was hit by a car going 45 miles per hour (my friend was walking) and he survived with a severely broken leg. He was also said to be the only person on that road to be hit by a car and survive. As he layed on the pavement, unable to move, he said he saw the tires of cars driving by him coming very close to his head when doing so. The car that hit him was only able to stop within inches of his head.
About 3 years later, we were together when we literally saw a yellow tarp being pulled over the body of a young man at almost the same spot.
