Out of site out of mind! If you can't find them then OH WELL,, Actually on The Nanny she has broken kids of the bottle with giving them away for something new,, next time she really wants something she will have to give up her Pacifier.

I know how you are feeling. I have a daughter that will be 3 in two weeks that still has a pacifier. I have heard it all. I have taken it away during the day (but always have one when we leave the house, I am not that brave) but at night when she is ready to go to sleep she says "Im tired mommy, I want my pappy." She knows she only gets it if she gets in bed. As soon as she is asleep I take it away. It has taken us a while to get this far.

Good Luck

I know my mom told me that the binky/pacifier fairy was coming and she made me hide all my binkys for the fairy to find...give your toddler like $5/$10 and take them to the toy store to get a toy with it..thats what my mom did...i thought it was cool but i still missed my binkys..i tried sucking on other soft things but after about a week i gave up and accepted they were gone..i was probly two or three...it might be different if your toddlers younger, but i thought this was a neat idea and it worked.

I say take it away cold turkey. Our friend has a 3-1/2 year old and they are having trouble getting her off the paci. Well, it is evident that her teeth have gotten messed up already - a lot of her front teeth are bucking out. Do it - sooner the better!!

first start with giving it to her only at nap and bedtime then slowly weaning her from it at naptime then do the same for bedtime. My son is weaned from having a binkie at naptime but having a hard time at bed time with it

I just took mine away with my girls. I hid it on top of the fridge one day and they acted like they never had it. And they were super attached to it so I was surprised when I didn't have any troubles.

You should just take it away from her. Yes, she will cry, but only for a few days. I know, its heartbreaking, but you have to do it sometime. Better now than later.

Good luck!

Try cutting the tip off from it. She probably won't like the texture in her mouth and the sucking won't be the same.

Tell her its "Bye Bye Paci day" and take her to one of those stuff-a-bear places and put the paci in it. Treat her with ice cream or something nice.
