Oilfield... U can earn at ur age anywhere between 10 bucks a hour to 20 bucks a hour here in Texas. I'm sure those rates differ from State to State due to cost of living.
I know in the state of Texas you have to be at least 18 to operate machinery and 16 to work. Not all jobs in the oilfield consist of working with machinery, so if thats the laws in your state as well, there are other jobs in the oilfield that pay good enough. HotShot being one. All u do is deliver parts from one rig to the next.

When I was 16 back in 2000 I worked in a girl shoes store Cathy Jean, even the pay is not great but I loved it. I was working with 2-4 pretty girls at a time and there is where I met one of my ex girlfriend. Work at wherever you want to work that will make time fly by and don't worry about the pay too much.

First of all , you have two things against you, age and lack of experience. Who do you know who DOESN'T want a good / great job that pays well and they like, too? EVERYONE wants one! So, how do you get it? Get older, and get experience.
First problem, many "good jobs" won't hire someone under the age of 18, so you will run into that barrier right away. There are laws on the books that prevent some businesses from hiring underage legal teens. So that limits your choices.
The second problem is your lack of experience, and willingness to sacrifice. Being paid well also means doing jobs people don't want to do, because the job or business requires it. Who's going to do it? If you moan and groan about how you don't like it, employers will think ( rightly ) that you aren't dependable, and will only be a lower-paid employee. You MUST be willing to do whatever it takes, as an employee, for an employer to think you're valuable. My stepson found that out , he got a "good" job with a former company of mine, making $8 right off the bat, but he wasn't happy he had to take out trash, sweep, he wanted to work on the "cool" stuff like electronics, which he did...but when the Company president wanted him to do something menial, he didn't want to. So he eventually got let go, because of his unwillingness to follow orders, and do what his employer wanted.
Those are two qualifications that only time can fix, age and experience. Unless you can find a nitch business, like some kid did with making up faux baseball-style collector cards with your image on them, he's making 10's of thousands of dollars wtih that idea. You'd have to come up with your own idea, and run your own business, to make big money. Otherwise, you'll need to have patience with an employer who wants to see if you are worth paying good money for.
Sorry for the "life lesson", but it's one you're going to learn, either thru people like me, or the hard way, like my stepson did. nothing comes easy, for most people, if it did, we'd all be alot happier! Only the silver-spooners get it easy, and many times they're not happy, and their lives , like Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan, go to trash because they have no solid ground under them, they've had it TOO easy. Just keep working, and try to gain experience in things you want to learn, so you can become your own boss. Good luck!
- The Gremlin Guy - still working for other people, at jobs he can't stand, either, but at least considered valuable.

I found a legit way to make money on line. It's probably the best program on the Internet. You get 100% of you sales, multiple income streams, and great support and training. If you work a hour a day, you should make about $3000 to $5000 a month.
