Not to be a downer, but the incubation period for samonella (the likey suspect from under-cooked poultry) is 8 to 72 hours. And the infectious dose is a mere 15 to 20 cells. I'd guess that the smaller the dose, the longer it'd take to reproduce enough to cause symptoms.

That said, you're probably fine. Even if the chicken was REALLY undercooked (it might seem to you to be undercooked even if it was actually in a safe temperature range) it'd still have to be carrying the bacteria for it to make you ill.

Relax and have a stiff drink. The alcohol will kill the bugs. (I completely made that up, but at least you'll get a drink.)

Thats the problem with cooking chicken on a bbq. I always cook it in the oven first. Try not to worry about it as this will make you ill. Personally I think you will be fine, you only ate a small amount and being the end piece it probably was cooked more than the others. Did you say anything when you discovered the rest of the chicken wasn't cooked?

Well it will proberly Take about 6 hours for you to start feeling the affect but Depending on how big the bit of chicken was and how undercooked it was it shouldnt really make you to ill. Just get an early nights sleep and dont drink anything apart from water and everything should be ok by the morning. If you do start to feel real bad go to your nearest doctor asap whatever time of night. Hospitals are always open and you can call a doctor if you dont think your well enough to drive. I doesnt sound bad enough to be food poisoning though so dont worry to much about it! Hope ive helped.

Okay, my first question is "Why didn't you complain to the chef" Yuck! Undercooked chicken is a complete no no! You are lucky, if you only ate the end piece you are probably safe, but you should have gotten a free meal out of that deal.. I would have sent it back and demanded to speak to the manager! I hope you didn't pay for that meal.. If you were to get sick, more than likely you would have by now, but not positively.. if you wake up in the middle of the night with stomach cramps and diarrhea, you know you had a problem... sorry.

While it is never good to eat undercooked poultry, that certainly doesn't mean the chicken was bad. If it is undercooked and bad then you will have a world of trouble on your hands probably coming out of both ends (if you know what I mean).
If you haven't started feeling even a little bit ill, you may be okay. My best friend ate a bad hot dog and was sick within about 10 mins.
Just try to relax. Good luck!

Kebabs are often Greek or Mideastern inspired. So, stick with those type sides: crocus, rice, etc. I wouldn't add a heavy gravy, that will just cover up all the flavor of the kebab. Instead, try brightening the flavors with a squeeze of lemon or lime juice. Perhaps even an oil vinaigrette.

Chances are you're ok. After 4 hours, if you were going to get food poisoning, you would have been nauseaus by now. Did you let your hostess know? You might want to give her a call and let her know that you are concerned about the undercooked chicken in case other guests get ill.

Hi!

You would have known by now if you had food poisoning!

Believe me, I had some Bernard Matthews Turkey Burgers a couple of years ago, and within half an hour I had 'it' coming out both ends - if you know what I mean! Was really poorly for about two days.

Never touched owt of Bernard Matthews since!!

Hope this helps!

chicken usually cooks quite quickly, so if it was brown enough on the outside for you to think that it was cooked, it probably had enough time on there that you wont get sick from it being undercooked.
Food usually digests within 4 hours, so in 6 hours, if you aren't puking your guts out you're probably ok!

bbqs are infamous for food related gut infections
but unless the little bit of chicken you ate wasnt chilled or stored properly[cross contamination]just being undercooked wont have too much bad effect if any at all,not like food poisoning would
