Steven B is closest so far. IF your state has a tax free DAY, by definition, it lasts ONE DAY. I believe you are referring to a "sales tax holiday". Several states waive sales taxes on certain items (commonly school supplies) on designated days (usually shortly before school starts. Tax free days are not very common. Tax free weekends or tax free weeks are more normal.

Not sure what you're talking about, but it appears that the answer is in your question. Tax free DAY. A tax free DAY, but definition would last a DAY.

I think what you're referring to is the day that one stops working to pay their taxes and then starts working for themselves or Tax Freedom day? For example, suppose you make $40k / yr and pay $10,000 in taxes.
$40,000/365=$109.59 - Earnings per day.
$10,000/$109.59=91.25 - # of days to reach $10,000.
Then on the 92nd day of the year your taxes would have been paid for and the other 273 you would keep what you earn.
This is of course just a means of illustrating the effects of taxation on citizens and not a real life example. There is no free tax day per se.
April 30 in 2007 is Tax Freedom day, two days later than last year.

Depends on the state. It's usually a week or a weekend. Check your state website - it probably has the information.

Depends upon the state you're asking about. Without knowing that, it's not possible to say.
