My husband, daughter & I are planning on flying to New York for Christmas. What are some "Christmasy" things we should do or see? My daughter is almost 3. Also, what is a great hotel to stay at around that time? I'm all about Christmas so I really want some great things to do that really get you into the spirit! Thanks!

Go see the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall and the huge Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center. New York changes into one huge friendly city during Christmas, especially a few days leading up to it.

definitely go see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. It's the most amazing Christmas show. Don't miss the tree at Rockefeller Center. Stroll on 6th ave, almost all buildings have HUGE ornaments in the front for you to take pictures. Bring your daughter to Mars2112 (unless she's a baby) kids love the entertainment in there. Go to the dept stores, there's stuff to see outside and inside of the stores, and you don't have to buy anything! (macys, bloomingdales, lord and taylor, saks fifth ave etc) Enjoy NYC!

The windows of many famous department stores, like Macy's & SAKS, have incredible displays that time of year. Go after sundown so you can appreciate them better. Chech out "La Quinta Inn" in Sunnyside if you wanna save a lot on hotel expenses If $ is not an issue then check out "The Grand Hyatt" in Grand Central Station (E. 42nd St.).

If you wanna get away from the rest of the tourists & hang out with locals, take the Queens's bound R train to "Woodhaven Blvd.", and go to the Queens Mall upstairs, or take the #7 train to 82nd St., from 82 to 103 streets you can find food from several latin countries all serving the real deal not some americanized imitation.

Radio City has a spectacular Christmas show. The department store windows are decorated and you can just walk around Fifth Ave. Dont forget St Patricks Cathedral and Rockefeller plaza
