I live in nyc, takes me 45 minutes by bus to get back from where he lives. im a student, my brnd is 29 and has a great job.I dont live in a good area and he knows i like to be home before 10pm, he never offers to pay $20 for a cab.
So he was waiting with me for the bus, i realized i left my art portofolio at his place, He said he would get it for me, it took him a long time to come back down. The bus came at 9 and the next one was 10 pm, i decided to get on the bus because by 10 and getting home at 11 im scared.
I didnt have my cell phone but he left me a nasty message at home saying how dare i take off like that and not wait for him and he said he almost threw my portfolio in the garbage. he said he left my portfolio with the doorman and i can pick up tomorrow because he doesnt want to see my face.

Get real, missy, your boyfriend doesn't have very strong feelings for you. The sooner you get out of that relationship the better.

Of course your BF is mean, cheap and inconsiderate. I would encourage you to go pick up your portfolio and resist any temptation to try and see him ever again. If you do he will only continue to make you feel that you have done something wrong - which you haven't. I am quite positive you deserve someone who is better than this guy and someone better is out there. I can't promise when you will meet him but even if you have to wait 25 years that is better than being in a relationship with someone who is a complete jerk. I am 44 and got married for the first time 3 months ago and can promise you real love is exciting and worth waiting for.

That was awfully rude of him to say something like that to someone he loves. I can see his frustration though if he went all the way back, grabbed what you needed and came back. Now he could have said no and made you go back and get it but it was still out of line for him to show that kind of frustration. I wouldnt take it too much to heart because I'm sure he just wanted to spend time with you and see you off to make sure you were safe. I would either break up with him because who knows what other kind of anger he could have, or talk to him about it, but give him some space first. The key to a good relationship is good communication. Good luck and I hope things go better for you!

Let's look at the facts you've given...you take a bus to see him, even though he's 29, great job and perhaps a car. You did not indicate whether he ever comes to see you, but your tone doesn't reflect that.
He knows (or maybe not) you are frightened of the trip and he takes his sweet time in getting your forgotten item to you.
AND he uses the words "how dare you"?
You've got tons more problems than your portfolio....
Dump this jerk.

Yes he's mean for several reasons. First of all, for not appreciating your situation. Secondly, for not giving you the benefit of the doubt when you left. And thirdly, for saying he "doesn't want to see your face".
Dump him. If he's mean over such a little thing, then he'll be mean over a much bigger thing later on. Seriously. Dump him.

well you should talk to him because he probably doesn't know why u left.
i would be pretty mad too if i went all the way home to get something and when i came back the person wasn't there.
but in your case u just need to tell him that you were afraid of getting home too late and you didnt have a phone..you could have used a payphone though
its kinda your fault..no effense
BUT TALK TO HIM!

That definitely wasn't a nice thing he said or did. I don't know the guy as well as you, but if he's like that all the time, then I'd have to say he's mean.

Not only is he mean, but he is an inconsiderate, self-centered, uncaring miser.
You're well rid of him. Get your portfolio and don't look back.
