I like peanuts and cashew nuts especially but they have a very high fat content, albeit good fats. So how can I include these in my diet without quickly going over my daily caloric requirements from just the nuts alone.

1/4 of a cup, which is about a handful, has 170 calories. Try not to eat them strait out of the can or it can be too easy to have just a couple more and then wind up eating a couple hundred extra cals without meaning too! Make sure you eat or drink something with the them so you stay full. I like to eat mine in breakfast foods like in cereal and oatmeal, with a glass of milk, or with yogurt.

Also try eating them with fruit. Nuts with a banana or apple will provide you with a healthy source of protein, fat, and vitamins.

Peanuts are a GREAT "appetite killer", & an ideal diet suppliment. And unlike something like Chips; it seems you can only eat just so many of them- and that's it. Let your hunger be your "guide", and eat ONLY as much as you're hungry for (& don't worry about the calories- so much). Personally, I LOVE dry roasted peanuts- and have found that a hand-full of THEM, & something to wash them down, -makes for an EXCELLENT "on-the-run-lunch", -that doesn't leave me hungry again- 3 hours later.

There are only several that are good for you and that have the good fats and not the bad. Go to your search engine and type in "nuts that are good for you" and you'll get all the info you need.

Ah, I know and they're so addicting.
You're only supposed to replace one mid-day snack with 1/4 a cup of them.
No more than that though. Also try to get them unsalted/raw.
