Jesus was not irreligious.
His is a religion based on faith, not on the keeping of a set of laws.
Indeed He calls us to higher standards than any.

We are on the shore of a desert island. We have built a raft, and now we have to figure out which way to the mainland. Jesus was sent to give us directions. Now we have to get on the raft and paddle together in the same direction. This is religion. I will need both the raft and the teamwork until I get to the shore.

I didn't know Buddhist monks hung out on Y!A.
I don't like organized religion and I've talked at length to my pastor about it. I believe in what the Bible teaches, but it's open to interpretation and who am I to say that my denomination has it 'right' over the others?
