i was arrested in january and although the charge was a felony i cooperated and it was instantly brought down to a misdemenor/summonse .it was 3 charges and the victims dropped 2 out of 3 and i plead guilty to one.the judge gave me a 175 fine to pay on june 30 of this yr and i havent paid it,i recieved a letter that said that a bench warrant was issued for my arrest.i want to pay it now(sick in the hospital for 3 weeks hence the non payment at the deadline set) but i dont know if the fine is the same or if have penalties and fees to pay with the warrant?soon after my arrest and release i moved out of state(new jersey to alaska)

Call the judge immediately, the dropping of the charges from felonies to misdemeanors was based on you fullfilling your part of the bargain.

Tell the judge your story of woe and hope he wll show mercy.

You better call the court right away. If you have a proven reason for missing the deadline set by the court, you may get a break. But every day you delay is pissing off the judge more and more. I do not know for certain, but the judge could have re instituted the felony charge if you didn't fulfill the obligation.

June 30 + 3 weeks = July 21. That was 2 weeks ago. Why didn't you contact the court as soon as you were released? Better yet, why didn't you contact the court FROM the hospital? Only the court can give you an exact answer, but my guess is $175 will not be enough at this point.
