God is a made up concept. God is a word. God is nothing more than an emotional response to synapses firing in the brain.

You're assuming that atheists think that God is "just some old bearded fellow sitting on cloud and creating things". There are a lot of Christians who view God that way. I don't know why you assume that atheists view the idea of God the same way.

There are several different and independent definitions that theistic people use to define 'God'.

One is the 'creator' of the universe.
Another is the 'first cause'.
Another is 'giver of morals'.
Another is 'an all powerful, perfect being'.

I don't beleive in any of these.

Another is 'the universe itself'. This was Spinoza's view. I feel this is a misuse of the noun 'God' simply because the universe does not have a personality.

A typical American atheist thinks that G-d does not exist. No fellow, no beard, no cloud -- just a character from someone else's mythology who has no basis in reality.

I do not believe in a creator who is involved in the lives of humans. I am not concerned with any other definition.

Since I don't believe in your God, WHY would I even consider what he supposedly is when he doesn't exist to begin with?
