how can i convert to islam

As salamu alikum! first of all congratulations!
You can convert to Islam by saying Shahadah: (It is in arabic)
"La ilaha il-Allah, Muhammed-ur-Rasulullah"
Translation:
There is no god except Allah, and Mohammah is the messenger of Allah.
You should say shahadah with all your heart and Insha Allah, Allah will addmit you to heaven. Also please see this site also.

Lavender's right. I think it you should contact some Mosque's Imam they shell help you in the right direction. Al though saying shahadah sincerely converts you to Islam.

Shahada is just a symbol but strongly recommended. Every men or women, people who live and/or act like a muslim considered a muslim. So, if you agree with the teachings of Islam (Allah (SWT) is the only god, has no partners nor wife&son and Mohammed (SAWS) is His (SWT) last messenger, then you can consider yourself a muslim) BUT you have to start praying as soon as you can. Now it is okay because you are new to this whole thing and you have time, but the prayer is the most important thing after Shahada if not the most important thing. This thing stands between a kufr (non-believer) and a believer.

You have to say shahada sincerely.
I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except God (Allah) and Muhammad is his messenger!
