He does not have full use of his limbs he is sliding everywhere. His pupils are going from huge to tiny slits. He has tried to eat our food and drink which is something he has never done. I don't know what to do for the best.

Go to a vet and they can help you make your decision.

Strokes in cats are extremely rare, I've never seen one. What people often think is a stroke is usually an embolism or a neurological disorder - sounds like the later in this case. The changing pupil size is usually a sign of brain trouble.

This could well be treatable, so please don't hesitate to go to a vet.

The only thing you can do is bring him to the vets. It could be a stroke or an epileptic fit which can also effect the animals ability to walk and changes behaviour. Try to keep your cat as calm as possible, you don't want him to pick up your distress as this will stress the cat too. I have a dog who I thought had a stroke and it turned out to be epilepsy, she lost her ability to walk and control her bladder and acted strangely. Within a half an hour she was back on her feet again and ok. If it is epilepsy hopefully the seizure won't last long. But saying that it could just as easily be a stroke. Get him to the vets now, and I hope he is fine.

Get that cat to the vet right now and if you can't do that find the phone number for the 24-hour animal hospital nearest you and save that cat's life. Thank you. - Chris!

I think it sounds like a sort of poisoning. I would take him to the vet immediately. Good luck!

Go to a vet!

It could be a stroke, it also sounds like poisoning.

Either way, fast treatment is essential for recovery.

Call your vet. They will be closed but there should be a message left on their answerphone giving you a number to call in an emergency which this is. Please do it now. Hope it goes well.
