I believe that God has a place for those who commit their lives to the betterment of man, like Gandhi. i find it hard to believe that a loving and peaceful God would look at a manlike that and damn him to the flames of hell.

Of course Ghandi id in a state that we all go to when we pass on and that place is a paradise where we all go while waiting for our next incarnation into this world.Ghandi was a very highly advanced human being who was as well a initiate of the second degree which gave him mastery over the physical and as well as the astral elemental. He will soon be a Master of Wisdom in a very short time as we all will be sometime in the future. Some human beings seem to tread the evolutionary path with amazing speed and others seem to be wasted by the wayside and are counted as the failures of nature and will have to go through the earthly classroom over again till they get it right and this could cover several life times of strenuous endeavour but they to will be Masters of wisdom sometime in the future ,only it will take a little longer for them to achieve it.

Ghandi was a Hindu and believed in reincarnation which leads to nirvana. He did not profess to believe in the Christian ideal of heaven or hell.

No. we do not go directly to heaven. Until the Resurrection we will go to Paradise, a place to rest from the cares of the world. Those who were evil will go to spirit prison, until they repent. Later we be resurrected with our bodies and be judged.
