They can make all of the proclamations they want but they really can't stop a buddha, bodhisattva, lama, etc. from taking rebirth as they choose. It's like trying to stop the sun from rising the next day.

THAT IS NOT TRUE - THE WEST MISREPRESENTED WHAT THE CHINESE SAID.
According to the Chinese government, the Tibetins are free to choose whatever living Buddha they please. The government then approves of the choice to keep out the ones who would cause problems within Tibet.
The government doesn't give a damn who they want, just as long as it won't cause problems. The TIBET people make the CHOICE, NOT the GOVERNMENT.
The west spewed this story from one end to another. That is called PROPAGANDA and most of you have bought into that.
China is giving Tibet more freedom, this is part of that ongoing process. China is smart enough to understand that instant change can result in big problems. Look what instant change has done in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I really wish the west would stop this lying.
Signed, an ex pat from the USA who, unlike most of you knows what he is talking about, because I live in China and see how this is all unfolding.
Peace
Jim

Quality-No-Fear - I hope you are not saying that you are jehovas witness and that "you will be saved" because you are a Witness - LOL..
CUZ YOUR DEAD WRONG.. Jehovas witness is one of the FALSE religions!!
(do you research on them folks)
anyway though, Chinese government are ATHEISTS.. they believe in NOTHING..
however though, they sure do seem to believe in MONEY, conquering and ignorant pride..
Basically what china is doing to Tibet, is the SAME Heinous thing the American government did to Native Americans!
The Chinese kill their own people for even breathing wrong - (Falun gong)
how can they be seen as righteous in any way?
Tibet is a nation based on peace, and if wrong in their beliefs and religion (determined by GOD HIMSELF, NOT CHINA) STILL shouldn't be destroyed by an ignorant country like china (or any other country) because NO nation on this earth is a 100% ANGEL..

Wow, that's hardcore, even for China. Note the distinction. They haven't really banned reincarnation--at least, not effectively. They've only really banned the search for a reincarnated individual. Not that I believe in it, but I do feel sad for them.

The Bible speaks of in the last days governments will turn on all of false religions, but the one true religion, the witnesses, as soon as the government turns on them, this is when Jehovah will step in and Armageddon will immediately follow.
What you are seeing is a sign of the times, but don't worry, all other false religions will be toppled by governments worldwide, but as soon as the government tries to touch the witnesses, this is when God says "NO"! and his wrath will be sudden sending his Son to remove all wickedness including all of false religions from the earth permanently. Unfortunately, this will mean that about 90% of the world's population will be annialated.
Good point. I see things are really happening lately. The attacked of false religions [such as buddist] has begun. I've heard of several others the gubmints are attacking. Salvation is not too far off.

Since reincarnation is not possible, it is a moot issue.

It's like a fundamentalist christian regime making it illegal for "Darwinists", or "athiest", or who- and whatever, to evolve.
