I agree with joyful spirit. Give it a few weeks to get used to the change. If you still don't like it, paint it a soft taupe, leave the white accents, and try hanging a larger mirror (if you have the room). Adequate lighting can also make a small room appear larger. Make sure the countertops are free from unnecessary clutter, as excessive clutter can make any room look and feel smaller. Lighter colors on the floor can also help the room feel larger. Good luck!
P.S. It might just be a matter of paint color. If you don't like the color, the room just won't feel right no matter how much lighting you have and how much you declutter!

The best thing to do in this case is go for a softer shade of mint. The lighter the color the more open the room is the darker then shade the smaller. Or if the room isnt square you can try a technique of only painting 1 wall or 3. I have seen it a few times and tried it myself. My parents didn't like the feel of the room so we painted the whole room. Another thing we did was...leave the shade it is but take a very faint mint color that looks like white and lightly blot it over it. This would allow for the darker color to still be seen but the the room will look bigger because of the softer color. We have done this now with two of our rooms and they look big even though one is only 10x12.

Perceived room size can be an optical illusion. If your room was previously white, any color will make the room look smaller. If the room looks narrow and tall now that you have painted the walls, you may want to add heavy crown molding to bring the ceiling down. Another option is to add wainscoting to the bottom half of the walls, painted white, to brighten the room. Accessories can also make a difference - consider using framed mirrors.

Paint it 3 colors of white, one for the walls, one for the trim, and one for the ceiling..then pick your accent colors (1 or 2) and your taps will stand out too.

Bigger is not always better. If the color is great and you accessorize it right, the room will take on a WOW effect that has nothing to do with it's size. If you own and can change out the sinks and lighting, it can affect an even more WOW. The room size is what it is....your design choices can make it something really special.

This happened to a friend of mine, he painted his room a dark blue and the 10x12 room seemed too constricted. We painted a faux crown molding at the top with a complimentary color and it gave the room some depth. Maybe some crown molding or chair railing would give you the look you are trying to achieve.

Our bathroom is on the small side, not as tall as yours. But, we had a wall that we could put a big mirror and that helped ours seem bigger, plus the mirror is really helpful.

Give it a month before you make any decisions. What you're feeling might just be a reaction to its being different. Give yourself a chance to get used to it before doing anything.
