I need a car that is going to get me from point A to point B. I don't want to spend more than $500 on because I am putting myself through college and can't really afford much more than that. It doesn't have to be pretty, but drivable. I have tried newspapers, online auto sites, ebay, and even car auctions. I don't know where else to look. I hear about people finding cars like this all the time - I just don't know where. Please HELP!

From senior citizens that don't really need the money that bad. Most of them don't tend to rag their cars out and they
take care of their vehicles.

Depends on your situation. Worst thing about a motorcycle is you can't haul stuff, even groceries kind of suck to try to get very many home if you don't have a bike with lots of luggage. I had probably 3 or 4 adult years when I only had a bike, worked then and I probably saved a little money on gas, imposable now. But it was cool to be the type of guy who only owned a bike. You could get a low mile Japanese in-line 4 that is upwards of 20 years old and it would still be a great bike and would cost you like $1500, and it would outperform most cruisers.

Good Luck,,,,,,what ever you find, have it checked by a reliable mechanic. DO NOT PUT DOWN YOUR MONEY WITHOUT HAVING IT CHECKED. Otherwise your first repair could easily cost more than the car cost.

Brian's suggestion was excellent. My husband and I are 66 and take immaculate care of our cars. We are sizing down to one soon, but even at that either car will go for more than your budget. Good Luck in finding a good one.

hopefully your town is hip enough to use Craigslist.

Look, here I typed in $500 or less for a car on Portlands Craigslist, and here is what I got!
