In my mind never. While I can empathize and even understand why a person comes here or stays here illegally I can't condone it.While I feel illegal is illegal from a law aspect I also at the same time realize something must be broken to allow this to happen. So that's why I get irritated when I hear enforce the laws on the books. The laws are obviously flawed if all these loop holes exist that allow illegal immigration to continue.Something must change or we're just spitting into the wind with different states doing different things. That's not SOLVING the problem it's avoiding the problem on the National level.Don't you think it's time to confront our issue of immigration head on?And make new better laws that face today's problems of illegal immigration?Would you be open to new laws that served Americans better and ended the desire for others to illegally immigrate?

The only time when it's not ok is when those who kill or do another vicious crime against another, then they don't need to be here in the country, but then again, they should be here in our country, but in jail/prison because they have a chance to come back illegally.

I know exactly what you mean. There are some awfully nice people that have come here (both legally and illegally) who are good people and whose only goal is to work hard and be good citizens. Unfortunately, a whole bunch of the others come as well. Since our laws are not being enforced or written in a way as to make them effective, then it is harder for the good people to come and harder for the government employees who decided which people to let in. We need the immigrants, but we MUST control our border. What we have is a bunch of politicians who are willing to leave the door open as long as the people vote their way. (And, poor old Bush is foolish enough to think that he can out pander the other party!)
It would be easy enough to solve the problem. All employees must give their SS# to their employer for taxation purposes. It is easy enough to compare SS#s and names and notify the employer, who would then terminate the employment. No, law has ever been written that does that. If they couldn't get a job or a TIN (taxpayer Identification number) then they couldn't work here. Our government gives illegals a TIN! I know a business owner who says he would not employ illegal aliens, but if they have a TIN, he can't fire them!

The government has let it happen for so long. And now that elections are coming up next year, everybody is acting like they want to do something about it.

The point is it should have been taken care of much lon ago, not now that politicians want Americans to feel as if they have our best interest at hearts.

Just like during electons, gas prices go down. It's all a matter of crooked politicians who dont do anything about real issues.

Illegal is never ok! But blessed are the peacemakers as they will see God! I really appreciate what you are trying to do here, but I don't think that new laws will make any difference at this time. This issue needs to be resolved, the borders need to be secured and then after the gangs and hate groups have been deported maybe there will be a chance to talk about change.

There are no loopholes in the laws with regard to illegal immigration. They are just not being enforced. If the laws were being enforced there would be mass deportations taking place right now. New laws can be as easily un-enforced as the old laws are. As long as big businesses benefit from the cheap labor-as long as politicians cater to the big businesses for campaign funds-as long as law enforcement is under the control of politicians-as long as people ignorantly vote for the same politicians-we are spitting in the wind. It is not even considered polite to call them "illegal immigrants" now. They are called "undocumented workers"

I don't think illegal is ever OK. I agree that our laws are flawed and need to be changed. That is the responsibility of the American people. The choice that the illegal immigrants make to break the law is all on them. Changing the law won't absolve them of their crime. They have to tackle their own desires to live outside of the law. They don't like these laws so it is apparently acceptable to give in to that desire..not in my mind. What if they don't like the next laws either? When does the justification end?

In my opinion when you do not like a law or feel it unjust work to change it instead of breaking it.

Having said that I would absolutely be behind new laws that better served the American peoples interest and ended the desire for others to illegally immigrate, where do I sign? IF they are enforced....

Edit:
Orlando Castaneda should not be deported, he earned his citizenship... I will also email my Senator but as we all know they get little done, its just not right...

illegal is always ok in the case of unjust laws.

consider the civil rights movement.

illegal is sometimes ok, if you have a just law but an unusual circumstance--

i speed to the hospital when my wife is pregnant.

in the case of immigration?

illegal is fine when you're fleeing out of personal safety. if you're a refugee, i see no reason to turn them down.

granted, this has nothing to do with most of the illegal immigrants here today. but that's not the real point. your question was "when is illegal ok?" and it really is sometimes necessary.

but sometimes doesn't mean the rules are bad.

Yes, I agree. The laws are faulty. I think that this is an issue that needs to be assessed from the ground up, as, the problems that we are facing as a country in the current situation is far different than anything that we have historically faced. I think the only option is to reconsider the laws that are obviously not working already.

I know that you are trying very hard to understand this problem. But what you don't realize is that there is nothing wrong with the laws, and they are enforceable. The government is deliberately not enforcing them and refusing to allow anyone else to do so because of the plans for the North American Union. Please do some research on this (or I can post some links if you like). It is not a myth or conspiracy theory.

Me too.

About Spiderpigs link: That is wrong. However, I think our government is going to look for cases like this to crack down on especially, in order to change the minds of people that are opposed to amnesty. They will try to deport people like this while not bothering to deport the worst criminal illegal aliens.
