He was real fine last night today he seems to have no energy. Last night he ate some week old turkey lunch meat and some pistachios. I called the vet and she said as long as he is drinking he should be ok. I feel as if I should be doing more. He does not seem to be getting any worse. His fever comes and it goes. His nose is cold his tounge and gums look normal. His ears seem cold. He has no desire for food. The only thing I notice is he has sleepers below his eye.

Just like people who eat something bad, dogs need time to let these things pass.
unless he worsens, i.e. does not drink, does not poop after a day or two, doesn't seem to rest, always walking around, etc.
then don't worry.
he will be alright.
you may want to call the vet and check to see if there is something you can give him to help him ease the discomfort.

good luck!

I think the vet was right to tell you as long as he's drinking... that is what is most important right now. Of course if he gets worse go to the vet immediately but, I don't think there is anything else you can do. His tummy is upset and it'll just have to run it's course. Think back to when you had a tummy ache did you want to run & play? Maybe no more human food in the future...

It is not normal for dogs not to eat and to just lay around. Take him to the vets and have an exam and/or bloodwork done. This could be just about anything, and maybe very serious.

You are obviously worried. Take him to the vet and get him checked out.

if he can get to grass and eat some it will act as an antacid and be good for him
