it should be safe. On the 19th the people of Thailand will be voting for a new Constitution. Should be safe just stay away from any large protest of gathering of groups of people. Especially if they are wearing yellow head bands.

I did hear of some problems in Thailand due to some unrest in the largely Muslim South of the country. Bangkok is a long way from this trouble so I don't know of any special reason why Bangkok should be unusually dangerous at this time. Even the recent coup has not seriously affected normal life. Obviously anywhere you go is not 100% safe so do not throw caution completely to the wind.

Yes, it's safe in Bangkok. Don't worry about the political situation. Nobody living in Bangkok does.

High-risk areas are in the three southern-most provinces.

The problems are mostly centralized, if you don't go to those places, you're pretty safe.

Nothing goes on, where we live.
