YES, it is indeed very rude - in most places, it is actually illegal to "disturb the peace" before or after a certain time - they COULD have AT LEAST ran off some fliers on their computer warning the neighbors they would be starting EARLY... you might ask them if they mind if you play your stereo at 3 a.m. Monday evening... but don't actually do it, it's just a statement stressing the point of being inconsiderate.

They may not have a choice to be more considerate of neighbors. The timeline and construction workers time decides the start and end of work days. And everyone wants their job done as soon as possible. We are moving into a new home build area where there are three lots around us that have not been purchased. We know we are going to be very inconvenienced for some time to come once each of these lots are sold and then crews coming and going at all hours. It is what it is. So you wait it out and maybe you'll be invited to their new pool. As far as their kids are concerned, that's an issue you may have to take up with them but once the pool is in, it could be noisier. Plant lots of fast growing trees to help with noise abatement.

Yes it was rude of them. Maybe not breaking any noise ordinaces, but rude nontheless. If it were a weekday, I wouldn't think 7am is too early, since many people are up and getting ready for work by then. But at 7 on a Saturday morning when most people are trying to get a little extra sleep, it was very rude.

yep it is completely and totally rude. I would tell them that you have a problem with it and that they should be more curteous and ask at least if it is ok with the rest of the neighborhood. It isnt even much to ask if they come at nine instead of seven. My parents just added onto our garage and they were up at seven as well and didnt stop till ten thirty. I am surprised they didnt take the steps like I said. It was annoying and it didnt stop until I told them that on my only day off, I couldnt sleep in. Good luck.

It is kind of rude, but more neighborhoods have a "you can't do construction earlier than this" time. Most of the places I know of that time is 7 or 7:30. It's not nice to the neighbors, but it makes sure the workers don't have tons of work to do at 2 in the afternoon when it's 95 degrees outside.

i would say YES it is rude. i mean not even the city starts construction work until after 9. and the kids really should be in the house by 9 at the VERY latest. when i was growning up we had to be in before the street lights came on. and i kinda feel sorry for you b/c the addition of the pool is just going to cause more noise and loudness

As much as I can see how it upsets you (because it drives me crazy when I hear the ice cream truck--living in rural Maine) I don't see it as odd.
If I was building a pool, I would want to get it started early in the AM, because it's not too hot. It's also about the time normal business hours start.
You can voice your concerns to your neighbor, and ask them when they'll be done, but other than that, I don't know what more you could do.

Honestly no its not rude. Inconvenient but not rude. They're doing it on a weekend early which will less likely interfere with the work schedule of neighbors. The limbs would have to come down eventually with this project so doing it on a weekend makes it more likely the debris will be gone sooner.
If it persists during the week, say always 30min before your alarm....then yes that's rude.

I have the SAME problem. It is a little rude to all the neighbors around them, but when else are they going to do it? It's summer! People are home a lot! My family is trying to be nice and try to ignore the sounds.. Close the windows in the morning!
you can't really stop them from working though.. unless you REALLY REALLY hate it.
Good luck!

I don't think it was rude. I think the neighbors wanted it done first thing on a Saturday so they would have most of it done come Monday, and in the morning while it was still cool enough for the workers. Because it's summer, many many people want to get done with their outside work in the morning before it gets too hot and humid. If it happened to me, I wouldn't have thought anything of it. Maybe you could buddy up w/ them and get some pool time! :-)
