China Southern Airlines is an ISO 9001 certified company.........have no doubts or fears !! Look up this link for it's ratings.

Admittedly not my favorite airline in China. CA (Air China) tends to have bigger newer planes. Hainan Airlines is a good smaller airline -- relatively newer planes than CZ, I believe. For domestic flights you don't always have many options though... For international flights, they can very inexpensive compared to other carriers. If you do fly CZ, try to avoid a lot of connections. I've been made to wait *standing* for hours in a transfer hall on a CZ flight because there was no place to sit. Hard to imagine that happening on a Cathay Pacific flight...
I would also look at train travel, where possible -- it's a terrific way to see a bit of the country.

Is that China Airlines ? if so, it was ok when i traveled with them.
I think their might be other options if you are going to or near Hong Kong area etc.
