Generally not getting your refund in a timely manner means one of two things. First there was a problem with the IRS receiving the return (like it got lost in the mail or their process). Secondly is the case where the IRS believes that you owe them or some other governmental agency money. You can check on your refund at the link below. You will need to know you filing status, SS number and the amount of the refund.

I would call the place where it was electronically filed if you filed that way. If the return was mailed in then you should have had your refund in 6 weeks. From what you say it sounds like it wasn't received. Check with the IRS at 1-800-829-1954 to check the status of your refund. You will NEED the following when you call #1 your social security number, #2 your filing status (whether you filed single, married filing joint, etc.) and #3 the exact amount of the refund you are expecting. They should then be able to give you the status of it. Good Luck

Check irs.gov and go to "WHERE'S MY REFUND?" - that might give you some info. You'll have to enter your social security number, your filing status, and the refund amount according to your return that you filed.
If that website doesn't tell you what's going on, call the IRS on Monday. If there wasn't any problem, you should have had your refund in late May.
If they are checking something out on your return to verify it, they wouldn't necessarily have notified you. If your refund was taken for something like back child support or overdue student loans, they most likely would have. But the refund is a couple months late, so there is some kind of problem.

When you file near the deadline it usually takes longer to process. If you filed by paper it can take a couple months but you should have received it by now. If you owe money for other unpaid taxes they might have taken your check. Check status on the web or call the IRS.
Here's the link to check status:

Have you called your preparer or the IRS, if you filed it yourself, and ask where the refund is?

if the returned was filed properly i would say your check is lost in the mail -- i would contact the IRS and followup -- the irs records may show you never filed -- in that case get a hold of whoever filed your taxes.
