for christians/non christians. how do you feel when someone hands you a tract? Has anyone come to Jesus after reading one? just wondering because I know people who hand them out all the time. I personally would get annoyed, so I'm wondering if that's just a matter of opinion.
thanks!

I go out every Tuesday night with my sister and a few other believers, and we stand in front of a Walgreen's store with a wicker basket full of little candy bars which we freely hand out, and at the same time pass out a Gospel tract. I especially prefer Campus Crusade for Christ tracts (such as the Four Spiritual Laws tract), but also hand out selected Chick tracts. We have been doing this for years and handed out thousands of tracts. If just one person reads one, takes it to heart, and calls upon the Lord to save him, it will have all been worth while. I especially like handing a tract to a young child (one of my favorites is "In Search of the Greatest Treasure" by Campus Crusade), as this may be the first clear introduction to that child to the message of God's love in Jesus Christ, and it just may prevent them from entering into a life of sin and eternal regret.

Jesus said "Go into all the world and preach the gospel..."
Each of us must decide whether or not we will obey Him and how we will do that. Tracts are one way of doing this.

I'm a Christian, and I enjoy reading the ones that look like little comic books. Sure, they may annoy *some* people, but if even one person comes to know Christ by reading one, then it's worth it.

I came to Jesus through a tract indirectly....yes, I think they are wonderful since they carry the good News of Jesus Christ.

Many atheists cannot stand it simply because they hate anything that represents Christ.

Many people have changed their life course upon reading information provided in religious tracts.

I personally like it.
As for giving them out, it is hoped that the person would, at their own convenience, read it and think about whatever it says.

I am a Christian, and I think they are a turn-off. I have heard of some who have been converted after having read one, but I would be insulted if someone handed me a tract.

Most of the ones I have read contain error... I place no value in them and some do more harm than good.

Found one in the bathroom once and used it.

It is a weak witness but hey, at least it is something.

Like Chick tracts? I usually keep them and I even humor the fundies giving them to me. Later on that night, I have my sacremental bottle of wine and laugh my rear off reading them to some Alice Cooper.

I consider reading them just to see what they say and if their arguments hold water, but generally I take them and then promptly throw them away. It's a waste of paper, really.
