It depends on their families.
If one is more easy-going and the other's are stricter,
you can see which one will have the problem.

It totally depends on the parents. If daddy is this big shot success, spoils his daughter and is a jerk, the guy has a pretty hard time measuring up as dad will find every chance to put him down.

If mom is an awesome mom and homemaker, success at work and does it all, she'll do the same to the girl.

If either parents are losers, then there's no problem of the guy or girl being better.

Both I think.
Meeting the mom for the girl is hard. I know I felt weird meeting my guy's mom because he's her only son, and its like her little boy is with another girl. So I think that was a little weird.
But meeting the girl's dad with the guy has to be hard too. I know my dad comes off a little...weird sometimes and isn't afraid to stand up for his little girl. I'm sure it was weird for my boyfriend to meet my dad.

So I'm sure its about the same.
But if your worried about it. Just be respectful, keep it cool, and you'll get through it.

Meeting the family is nerve-racking, but in the end all goes well. When I met my boyfriend's family, apparently they raved about me for an hour and a half after I left. So just be respectful and nice and they'll love you!

totally depends on the parents.. but being a girl myself.. i would have to say the girls.. lol.. just simply because i have noticed that parents are definately more protective a girl therefore more critical of the boy. not to mention boys are often known to try to take advantage of girls... not so much the other way around... and parens of course dont want their girls taken advantage of.. which brings us full circle to the parents bein overprotective

I think usually the man does, bc parents of a female are sometimes defensive about who dates their daughter. i.e. the weaker partner! ...but it is hard to call. It depends on the situation.

The man, obviously. You should try sitting across from a pissed-off looking father who definitely knows what your plans are for his daughter. It's scary as hell.

definitely the guy! if he does anything to the daughter, the father's gonna rain down hell! you know, the whole virginity and if-you-hurt my-daughter-then-i'm-gonna-hurt-you kinda thing.
if you're the one in the "meet the parents" position right now, then good luck, man!

I think the man because he is supposed to take care of the family later on... it's rare that a man will reject a girl because shoe's "lower" than him but common for the girl to reject a man whose "better" than him...

Of course it will depend on the individuals involved.

I think in general, it's hard for the boyfriend to meet HER DAD. And I think it's hard for the girlfriend to meet HIS MOM.
