That your child forgot to put away?
This happens to me every once in awhile.
I'll step on a stray barbie, lego or some other toy.
And it just happens to be the pointy part :P
Has this ever happened to you?
What do you do when/if it does?

Im proud to say Ive never stepped on a toy in the middle of the night. :P

However, I have kicked the toybox a few times and inbetween my attempts to stiffle my own cursewords and the symphony of electronic music coming out of all her various toys all at once (and lingering on for 3 minutes)... Ive woken my little one up and then wrestled with her for 10 minutes or more to get her back to sleep again. LOL

Your question made me laugh because this happens to me all the time. I step on pointy blocks, parts to a Mr. Potato Head, pretty much anything that will hurt. Why can't she leave out stuffed animals and baby dolls for me to step on? When it happens, I usually start hopping around, try to do a "silent" scream and pick up the toy so I don't step on it again. It's always some little part to a toy that we didn't see when cleaning up but managed to make it's way to the middle of the floor when the lights go out.

It did a few times, but let me tell ya after the worse one, meaning the toy that is in the way when you have a headache and have not slept in several hours, hungry, on your period, and have a screaming child in the next room---you will change your tune about letting it happen again. What we do is before we brush our teeth we put our toys away--she is 22mnths old as she does not know any better now, all i say is it is time to put the toys away---i help but she thinks it is routine now. We hope this continues we do it every night regardless of time, or how exhausted we are. Good luck, but, when you get fed up with it you will fix it right quick.

Yes in the middle of the nite i have tripped over match box cars. when this happens we remove the toy and some other favorite toys and when they ask where is the car or truck or power ranger we tell them, well mom or dad found the match box toy on the floor and now we put them up so we know where they are and u dont. keep them away for a week or two and then give it back but tell them the next time i find a toy on the floor i will padlock your toy box and there will be now toys for 1 month. we havent had no toys on the floor for a couple of months. nor no padlock either...

i am a grandma who baby sits the twin toddlers a lot. i have been known to step on a toy or two after they are gone. yeah, why is it always the pointy part? what do you do? you pick it up and blame yourself for not putting the toys away in the first place. what else can you do?

I have done it numerous times. It is usually one of those darn legos that you can't see at all in the dark. I usually end up saying a few curse words under my breath, and damning the lego industry! LOL.

Yes, it happens to me often. It's usually a Lego and I yelp out the S word and then thank god that my very impressionable 2 year old wasn't around to hear me say it. :-)

Happens all the time... I have a two year old son. He's too young to really understand, but we clean his room together every day.
