Actually, you make money by joining ROTC. ROTC Cadets are given 100% College tuition assistance, meaning that the program pays for your schooling and you don't have to put up a dime for the education itself. If you already happen to have a scholarship, it will go to pay for all or part your education and ROTC pays the difference to cover the rest of the tuition AND matches and cuts you a check for whatever the scholarship pays the university. Also, ROTC offers scholarships to accompany tuition assistance for other expenses which you might incure as a student. You will have to check to see the criteria that must be met for those scholarships. Also, ROTC pays Cadets a monthly stipend (not sure how much) to cover the cost of uniform maintenance, food, etc. Also, I have heard from some friends that have gone through the program that each semester, they are given a stipend of about $500 to cover the cost of books.

If you want to increase your income, Join the National Guard or Reserves and take part in ROTC simultaeneous membership program. You get all of the above PLUS the Mongomery GI bill which is currently $309 per month AND youget paid E-5 pay for the weekend drills that you are required to attend.

I am sure that everything above is accurate as I have checked into joining ROTC, but certain scholarships and vary between schools and programs. Go down to the ROTC office and check it out for yourself.

rotc pays for your schooling and they actually pay you a couple hundred bucks a month. After graduating though you have to pay pack your tuition by serving in the military for 4 years.

The question you should ask is what happens if I don't finish school?
